Still ill OK: Manchester Monthly Meet-Up

23rd November 2021 @ 2:30 pm - 4:30 pm

Free

We’re back!

We are very excited to announce our first meet-up since before the first lockdown.

To help us manage numbers, please book your free space via Eventbrite: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/still-ill-ok-monthly-meet-up-for-chronically-ill-disabled-artists-tickets-199823346007

This is the first of our new series of Monthly Meet-Ups for chronically ill and disabled artists & creatives across the North West, where we hope to create a space to connect, share information & opportunities, play some art/drawing games, kvetch about various issues and to generally just hang-out & chill.

We will be running the event from 2.30-4.30pm, but Ellie will be there ready to welcome everyone from 2pm in order to try to minimise any arrival time anxiety.

Comfort & Access

We will have a quiet corner available for anyone who would like to use it during our event, with some zines, cushions, blankets and reading materials.

We will have tea and coffee supplies, but ask that you bring your own snacks if possible for food hygiene reasons. If you would like milk or a milk-alternative, please email Ellie in advance so that she can make sure these are available 🙂

There will be lots of blankets, cushions and hot water bottles available to try and keep us snuggly and warm!

COVID-19 Information

Statement from Work for Change: We’re asking people to take lateral flow tests and not come if there’s any doubt about their Covid status (either tests, recent contacts or symptoms). If anyone else books the space less than 48hrs before we will use the fogger to sterilise the space.

If you have any symptoms of COVID-19 as outlined below, we ask that you do not attend the event, but instead stay at home, order an at-home PCR test and seek medical advice. If you are unsure what to do, please phone NHS 111 for advice.

  • a high temperature – this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure your temperature)
  • a new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)
  • a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste – this means you’ve noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal

As the The Yard is a wonderfully open, large and well-ventilated space, we should be able to maintain social distancing during the meet-up. We understand that wearing masks or cloth face coverings is now optional, but we do ask that you wear one as much as you feel comfortable unless you are exempt. There are hand-washing facilities on-site and hand sanitiser will also be provided. We can also open the doors for extra ventilation, although this might get very chilly as the heating system might not be able to catch up.
