Spoonie Artist Meet Up #2
13th November 2019 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm
£3Apologies for having to reschedule the previous event time late notice – Ellie had a big old virus that wouldn’t go away cos, you know, autoimmune diseases and all that.
Anyway, we’re back and non-contagious and would love to see as many spoonies and disabled creatives from greater manchester as possible!
The special skill we will be sharing this session is… ORIGAMI. Donate a quid or so and you can take home a small forest of paper trees, ready to be strung up, dangled, or neatly positions somewhere in your nest.
——— What is the Spoonie Artist Meet-Up? ———-
This will be the second meet-up for Manchester’s Spoonie/Disabled/Neuodivergent creative population.
This is a meeting for #spoonieartists from around Manchester to come and get together in a totally wheelchair accessible venue, meet one another and work on their own creative projects.
We will provide you with a whole host of wonderful resources and materials to experiment with and enjoy, as well as some biscuits and a brew. This is also an opportunity for you to bring your own craft projects to get on with in a nice, friendly, social environment.
Still Ill OK & Nice Time coordinates the programme, so there will also be some craftivist opportunities, prompts and zine call-outs if that’s what floats your boat!
As the sessions go on, we will facilitate different arts and craft skill shares to go alongside each meet-up in a low-pressure environment.
This event will take place at The Yard Theatre, Hulme.
The event is open to everyone but is primarily a space for chronically ill, disabled, neurodivergent creatives to get together, socialise, play with and make art. It takes place at least once a month in a wheelchair accessible venue.
